Mineral Exploration

Our team has diverse commodity experience that includes base metals, precious metals and industrial minerals globally. Recent exploration projects have included, resource estimates for hard rock lithium and brines, iron ore, orogenic, epithermal and mesothermal gold, carbonate host Pb/Zn, Ni, VMS, rare earth and uranium, gypsum and aggregates.

Project Management

Mercator can provide a turnkey solution to your next exploration project. Our professionals can assist with exploration project design, staffing, contract management, and operation management. Our hands on team has extensive experience running remote field exploration or drilling program from start to finish.

AI Driven Prospectivity Mapping

Prospectivity mapping is a data-mining method that generates a heat map from a geological database. Mercator’s Prospectivity Mapping calculator uses a fusion of supervised AI-driven and Knowledge-Driven methods. Artificial Intelligence (AI) can examine higher dimensions of data (100s or 1000s of layers) than any geologist and can derive patterns within the database that may not be obvious to the geologist. Mercator utilizes multiple data types with spatial coverage, including geology, geochemistry, LiDAR and geophysics to identify areas with greatest prospectivity for a desired deposit type.

The dynamic architecture of the database system allows for near real-time calculation of prospectivity results while the exploration project unfolds. The system automatically incorporates new exploration data uploaded into the database system, outputting a revised prospectivity that reflects the most up-to-date exploration results.

Mineral Resource Estimates

Our resource specialists have extensive experience in NI 43-101 Mineral Resource Estimates, statistical analysis, QA/QC controls, and 2D and 3D geological and structural interpretation. We have developed both geological models and Mineral Resource Estimates for many commodities and deposit types around the globe.

Utilizing advanced modeling software like Leapfrog® and Surpac™ we work closely with clients to develop Mineral Resource Estimates. These estimates are prepared in accordance with the level of confidence required by CIM Standards that have been incorporated in NI 43-101.

GIS and Database Management

Our database specialists and GIS mapping team can transform your analogue paper documents into sophisticated queryable databases and digital map files.  This allows for detailed analysis, enhanced visualization, data compilation and development of active databases for data collection on exploration projects.

From site planning to report figures, marketing graphics, the GIS, Graphics team works closely with clients and project managers to help you get the most from your exploration datasets.

Regulatory Compliance and NI 43-101

Our staff and associates offer NI 43-101 expertise and guidance on Canadian mining disclosure standards and compliance with stock exchange rules and listing requirements.
