Peter is a graduate of Dalhousie University (1981) and has been involved in mineral exploration since that time. He is a Professional Geologist registered with Geoscientists Nova Scotia and the Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador. Peter provides professional oversight and senior management skills that come with over 35 years of mineral exploration experience. As a Senior Geoscientist he works with companies to develop exploration projects, large exploration budgets and client logistical needs for global projects. Additionally, he has expertise in property and technical assessments, project design and program implementation for projects relating to precious metals and base metals as well as industrial mineral commodities for clients in Canada, Finland, Mexico, Australia, South America, Africa, and Russia.
Michael Cullen is the Chief Geologist at Mercator Geological Services and is a graduate of Mount Allison University (B.Sc., Hons.) and Dalhousie University (M.Sc.). He is a Professional Geoscientist registered with the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Nova Scotia, Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador and the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientist New Brunswick, and is a Director of the Mining Association of Nova Scotia. He has over 35 years of combined experience as a Senior Geoscientist and/or Senior Manager within the mineral exploration industry with specialty in structural geology, resource evaluation and technical assessments. Assignments have included locations throughout Canada as well as in the United States, Africa, Australia, Bolivia, Columbia, Chile, Finland, and Russia. He has a strong background in detailed geological evaluation of mineral deposits with specific experience in precious metals, uranium, base metals, and coal. He has also been involved in exploration and assessment of other commodities, including barite, gypsum, limestone, marble, and coal bed methane.
Matthew is a Senior Resource Geologist and a graduate of Dalhousie University with Combined Honours in Earth Sciences/Biology and concentration in Environmental Studies. He is a Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) with the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Nova Scotia (APGNS). He joined Mercator in 2004 and provides management and evaluation of various geological projects using Surpac and Leapfrog® 3D software to reporting standards of National Instrument 43-101. His specialties include design of diamond drill hole programs, drill hole database management, 3D wireframe and solids generation, geological interpretation, geostatistical analysis and Mineral Resource Estimation. Matthew has experience with various deposit styles present in Eastern Canada, including coarse-grained and disseminated gold, carbonate hosted base-metal, and porphyry polymetallic mineral deposits. His expertise in deposit modeling using modelling software provides clients with management and support services through various project phases, including historic drilling database evaluation and validation, design of new drilling programs and completion of block model Mineral Resource Estimations. Matthew currently sits as a Councillor for the APGNS.
Paul is a Senior Professional Geologist (P.Geo.) with over 20 years of experience in the mining and oil & gas sectors in Canada, USA, Australia, New Zealand, and internationally taking projects from exploration stage to mine development. He is also a NI 43-101 and JORC expert including writing and reviewing NI 43-101 technical reports for compliance and ensuring mining company public disclosure (corporate website and presentations, news releases, AIF, MD&A, etc.) meet the Canadian mining disclosure standards for securities commissions, TSX and TSX Venture Exchange, and CSE filings.
Mike is a graduate of Memorial University of Newfoundland (B.Sc. Hons.) and the University of Ottawa (M.Sc.). Mike is a Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) registered with the Association of Professional Geoscientists in Nova Scotia (APGNS). He has more than 6 years experience as a project manager and project coordinator for mineral exploration, environmental consulting, and oil and gas development projects in the provinces of Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Saskatchewan, and Alberta. Specifically, Mike has experience in exploration for precious metals (gold and copper), industrial minerals (gypsum), uranium, and offshore oil and gas and heavy oil development projects. Mike also has experience in environmental assessments, exploration targeting and related business development initiatives. Mike joined Mercator in 2018 and as senior project manager is responsible for oversight of assessment reporting, licence management, exploration permitting, land access, and leads Mercator’s Business Development initiatives. Mike is very active on a professional level and currently is the Chair of the Student Committee and the Secretary of the Mining and Energy Committee for the APGNS, as well as a Director for the Minerals Research Association of Nova Scotia.
Since obtaining her degree from the University of Massachusetts (B.Sc.) followed by the University of British Columbia (M.Sc.), Wren has worked in the mineral exploration industry in a variety of commodities (gold, copper, uranium, and kimberlitic deposits) throughout Canada, the United States, and Finland. Her experience ranges from field mapping and geochemical sampling to core and geotechnical logging to data compilation and processing. Joining Mercator in 2019, Wren contributes great value to our clients and their projects as a Senior Project Geologist in the field, providing drilling and database management. She is also a contributing member of the Business Development and Marketing team at Mercator, facilitating in the pursuit of long-term value for the company and its client relationships.
Ryan Kressall is the Senior Geochemist/Geologist at Mercator and holds a B.Sc. (Hons.) and M.Sc. in Geology from the University of Manitoba and has been completing a PhD dissertation at Dalhousie University. His experience includes application of geochemistry and statistical methods to mineral exploration, analytical instrumentation and project management. He has also worked on a variety of commodities across Canada including gold, rare metals, rare earths and diamonds. Joining Mercator in 2018 as our Senior Geochemist, Ryan is responsible for sophisticated data analyses and database development to support prospectivity and targeting strategies. Ryan is developing unique geochemical and mineralogical fingerprinting signatures for specific deposit types.
Courtney leads our team of advanced GIS specialists who support our geological staff and provide data mapping and sophisticated spatial analytics to geological projects and databases. As Senior GIS Specialist at Mercator since 2018, she is responsible for the collection, analysis and verification of data sets from various sources for integration with existing data. She streamlines data mapping processes by performing spatial queries and utilizing python scripts to create, update, and export topographic maps using QGIS, and provides mapping support for NI 43-101 reports, compilation mapping, and presentations.
David is a Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) registered with the Association of Professional Geoscientists in Nova Scotia and holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Geology from Saint Francis Xavier University. David’s professional expertise was developed through participation in grassroots to brownfields exploration programs and mining operations in the Americas and Europe. This includes coordinating generative exploration programs on land packages up to 70,000 hectares and overseeing the execution of surface and underground drilling programs up to 10 rigs. David’s commodity experience includes greenstone hosted and mesothermal gold, polymetallic porphyry deposits, magmatic Ni-Cu_PGE, and heavy rare earth elements. Through significant training and experience he possesses proficiency in ArcGIS, Maptek, Vulcan and Leapfrog Geo®.
Alan holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Geology and a PMP Certification in Project Management from Dalhousie University. Alan is a Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) registered with the Association of Professional Geoscientists in Nova Scotia. Alan has over 11 years of experience in the mining & exploration industry, including programs for gold, polymetallic VMS, Ni-Cu-PGEs, and uranium. As Senior Project Geologist with Mercator since 2019, he has expertise in supervision of large drilling programs, managing all aspects of drilling logistics in addition to geological staff and geophysical exploration campaigns. Through these roles he has developed a skill set that includes data compilation, review for potential M&A activity, health and safety, land management and claim tracking.
Stewart graduated from Saint Mary’s University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science with Honours (B.Sc Hons.) in Geology. He joined Mercator in 2007 as a field geologist and is registered as a Professional Geologist with Association of Professional Geoscientists of Nova Scotia. As Senior Project Geologist, Stewart has extensive experience with supervising diamond drill and reverse circulation drill projects in exploration for base metals and gold, as well as, bituminous well site and drill site remediation projects across Canada. His field work experience also has included geochemical sampling, mapping, prospecting and gas absorption sampling. In the office, he has participated in research, graphical presentation, mapping, data compilation and verification, as well as the writing of technical and property reports.
Kelsey graduated from Acadia University with a Bachelor of Science double-majoring in Geology and Environmental Science. She also completed an Adv Dip in Geog Sci: Remote Sensing from the Centre of Geographic Sciences. As a databases specialist with Mercator since 2018, Kelsey designs and manages relational databases to organize data from ongoing exploration programs. she streamlines data entry and management processes by designing custom digital forms that can be used in a remote setting for various field activities such as drill logging, soil sampling, and geological field mapping. She utilizes SQL queries to perform QAQC checks and database updates. As a Geologist, Kelsey has participated in field exploration programs including reverse circulation drilling and soil sampling projects focusing on base metal and gold exploration. She assists in the management of client properties by co-authoring, writing and filing technical reports for assessment work.
